Montessori Primary Guide

My name is Adriana Mayoral Meza, and I am currently the Assistant Teacher in the Klimt Classroom at Montessori Explorer. My journey in education began in Mexico, where I worked with adolescent children before moving to the United States. After validating my academic credentials at Southwestern College, I completed a one-year internship at Sunset Preschool and later enrolled in a two-year Montessori Guide program in Chula Vista. During that time, I also completed my practicum at Little Oak Montessori. In 2024, I joined Montessori Explorer, and I’m now in my third year of working with preschool-aged children.

What first drew me to Montessori education was the deep respect it shows for each child’s unique pace of development. I was inspired by the way this method nurtures independence, honors each child’s individuality, and allows them the freedom to explore their interests in a thoughtful and intentional environment. As a Montessori educator, I’m passionate about identifying and supporting children’s needs based on their natural curiosity and stage of development.

One of the most meaningful aspects of my work is helping a child realize they are capable—especially in moments when they believe they are not. Supporting and guiding them until they discover their own strength and independence brings me tremendous joy. Each day, I feel energized by the children’s innocence, creativity, and eagerness to learn. Being greeted with a smile or a hug as they walk into the classroom reminds me how important our connection is to their growth and confidence.

In the classroom, I strive to model respect, honesty, responsibility, and teamwork. I believe that demonstrating patience and tolerance helps children feel safe, motivated, and ready to explore. I also recognize the power of outdoor experiences—whether it’s science, art, or cooking—as a way for children to reconnect with themselves, express joy, and return to the classroom feeling grounded and calm.

Over the years, the children have taught me just as much as I have taught them. They’ve helped me deepen my own patience, empathy, and creativity. They’ve reminded me to celebrate the small victories and to honor each child’s unique rhythm. With consistent support and trust, I believe all children are capable of overcoming challenges and thriving.

My professional qualifications include:

  • A background in secondary education with experience teaching in Mexico
  • Over 12 units in early childhood development
  • Completion of a two-year Montessori Guide training
  • Preventive Health certification
  • Training in special education

Working in Montessori education is more than a profession for me—it is a calling. I’m honored to support each child on their path toward independence, confidence, and lifelong learning.
