Co Teacher in Primary Program

My name is Martha Morales, and I am a dedicated teacher at Montessori Explorer. My journey in early childhood education began in high school, where I volunteered at my local church. At the age of 17, I started teaching children as a catechist. From early on, I discovered a deep passion for teaching and supporting children in their growth and development. It brings me immense joy to watch them become independent, discover the world around them, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

My first experience with Montessori Explorer was as a practicum student, and it quickly became one of the most meaningful moments in my life. From the moment I stepped into the classroom, I felt inspired and motivated to share everything I knew. I truly believe that Montessori provides one of the best environments for children to learn, grow, and gain independence.

Throughout my life, I’ve had many experiences that confirmed my calling to be a teacher. The most significant was during my time serving in the church. The happiness I felt while helping children learn and witnessing the positive impact I could have on their lives affirmed that teaching was my true vocation.

What I enjoy most about working with children is guiding them as they learn and discover the world. I feel proud when they accomplish something—no matter how small—and I admire their determination and effort. It inspires me to watch them explore new ideas and take pride in their achievements. I especially love listening to their stories, sharing in their creativity, and being a positive influence in their lives. Their smiles and joy fill my heart and reaffirm my commitment to their development.

I deeply appreciate the Montessori method because it emphasizes individualized attention and supports each child’s independence. It recognizes the unique potential of every child and gives them the tools and confidence to succeed—both academically and in daily life. The focus on respect, care, and personal growth aligns with my values as an educator.

In my classroom, my goal is to be a positive role model and to foster an environment rooted in respect, patience, and compassion. I am passionate about teaching and believe that honesty and responsibility are essential values we must instill in every child. Patience is one of my strongest qualities, and I strive every day to lead with kindness and understanding.

One of the most rewarding parts of being a teacher is when children invite me to work with them and share their accomplishments. Their excitement and affection—especially when a child says, “I love you, Miss Martha”—are deeply touching and meaningful to me. Being part of their growth is truly a privilege.

I have learned so much from the children I work with. They remind me to be persistent, to approach each day with a smile, and to treat everyone with kindness. They teach me to be a better teacher every day and inspire me to keep growing in my own learning journey.

Outside the classroom, I find inspiration in moments of relaxation and joy. I love spending time with my family, especially my son. I enjoy reading and writing—both of which allow me to reflect and express myself. I also find peace by the beach, where the sound of the waves brings me calm.
