Hi, my name is Mia Ledezma, and I serve as the Administrator in Family Services at Montessori Explorer. My journey in early childhood education began in 2022, during my junior year of high school. As part of my internship, I had the opportunity to work with children, and it quickly became clear to me how passionate I was about supporting them during their most important developmental years.
I was drawn to Montessori education because of its deep respect for the child, its emphasis on independence, and its hands-on approach to learning. I love how it builds confidence and fosters a natural love for discovery. One of the moments that confirmed this path for me was working with a child who experienced frequent tantrums. Instead of reacting, I stayed patient and calm. Over time, he began to trust me, and one day, during a difficult moment, he came to me for comfort instead of acting out. That experience showed me just how powerful connection and consistency can be.
What I love most about working with children is the way they light up when they see me. Their joy is contagious, and watching them grow and gain independence is incredibly fulfilling. I also deeply enjoy collaborating with my coworkers—we support each other like a true team. Whether I’m assisting in a classroom or supporting families, I strive to model patience, respect, and presence. I’ve learned so much from the children, especially the importance of living in the moment and finding joy in the little things.
Outside of work, I love going on drives to clear my mind, spending time with my loved ones, and being out in nature. Traveling and grounding myself outdoors keeps me inspired and connected to what matters most.
I hold certifications in CPR, BLS, bloodborne pathogens, preventative health and safety, and child abuse mandated reporting. I’ve also completed trainings in supporting emergent readers and writers, pest management, and sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention. I’m grateful to be on this journey and to be part of a community that values growth, kindness, and authentic connection.
