Site Director Chula Vista

It has been a true privilege to be a part of the Montessori Explorer community since 2017. I began my journey as a practicum student and, through dedication, love for the work, and a deep connection to the Montessori philosophy, I have grown into my current role as Site Supervisor and Assistant Director.

Before entering the field of early childhood education, I studied social work and earned degrees in both Psychology and Child Development. My path shifted when I became a mother my daughter became the heart of my inspiration. Through her, I saw the importance of guiding children with love, respect, and intentional care. That calling led me to the classroom, where I’ve found my greatest sense of purpose.

What drew me to Montessori education was the incredible way it honors the whole child meeting them where they are and allowing them to learn with joy, independence, and dignity. I’ve seen firsthand how a child’s confidence blossoms when they are trusted, respected, and supported at their own pace. To be a part of that journey is such a blessing!

Each day, I feel grateful not only to guide children, but also to support and mentor the dedicated educators I work alongside. Helping teachers grow, feel confident, and thrive in their roles is one of the most fulfilling aspects of leadership. We are all learning together, and I value the opportunity to be a source of encouragement and guidance for my team.

One of the most meaningful parts of my day is welcoming each family in the morning. Greeting every parent and child with a smile brings me such joy it’s a simple but powerful way to start the day with warmth, connection, and positivity. Knowing I can help make someone’s morning brighter is something I hold close to my heart.

I am beyond blessed for the opportunity to do this work, and I am especially grateful to my amazing Director, Ms. Dinusha Perera. Her belief in me, her constant encouragement, and her unwavering support have truly helped me grow into the person and leader I am today. Her mentorship has been a gift, and I carry that with me in everything I do.

I strive to model the values I hold closest to my heart love kindness, patience, empathy, and respect. My goal is always to create a calm, loving, and thoughtful environment where each child feels safe and seen.

Children are, without a doubt, our greatest teachers. They inspire me daily with their curiosity, honesty, and resilience. They remind me to slow down, stay present, and lead with compassion but more than anything to value each moment.
